Operating in over 500 cities, collaborating with a vast network of restaurants, and supported by thousands of employees and independent delivery personnel, Swiggy provides fast and dependable delivery experiences backed by advanced machine learning and data processing.
Role Overview
As a Sales Manager I, your primary responsibility is to acquire and engage single-outlet independent restaurants within a designated city. You will be the main point of contact for these restaurant partners, understanding their business and challenges, and helping them grow through increased orders, visibility, and customer interaction. This consultative and field-based role demands adaptability and dedication to partner success, alongside developing skills in sales and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an assigned geographic territory by fostering strong partnerships with restaurant clients.
- Engage intensely through in-person visits, demonstrating product benefits, analyzing ROI, and promoting mutually advantageous collaboration.
- Apply consultative selling methods by assessing restaurant needs regarding sales channels, logistics, marketing budgets, and business objectives, and position Swiggy products as effective solutions.
- Oversee the complete monthly lifecycle of partnerships including pitching, negotiating, onboarding, and continuous support.
- Use data analytics to monitor adoption, diagnose growth challenges, troubleshoot, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Take responsibility for revenue targets within your market, keeping close tracking of sales pipelines and conversion rates.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency with Excel and similar spreadsheet tools to manage city and central data trackers effectively.
- Conduct ongoing market research to stay informed about restaurant trends, competition, and local market changes, providing feedback to influence product strategies.
- Execute 80 to 90 in-person meetings monthly with restaurant partners.
Preferred Background & Skills
- 0 to 2 years experience in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, ideally within FMCG, food and beverage, or hospitality sectors.
- Proven ability to meet or surpass sales targets and manage pipelines independently.
- Commitment to contributing to the growth of assigned restaurant partner portfolios, understanding the 24/7 nature of the restaurant industry.
- Strong comfort with data and command of Excel functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and dashboard creation.
- Postgraduate degree, preferably in marketing or sales.
