Key Responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments and conduct safety audits.
• Oversee site operations to ensure all procedures comply with Amazon's safety guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain updated safety metric reports for team review.
• Collaborate with Operations personnel and other business areas to address safety-related tasks and provide procedural guidance.
• Assist in implementing new safety initiatives.

Work Environment

As a site-based employee, you'll be well-positioned to observe activities firsthand and be accessible for employee inquiries throughout shifts. The role requires proactively identifying potential safety hazards by scrutinizing equipment use and workflow, enabling you to recommend the safest procedural practices. You will play an active part in executing safety improvements and supporting the Operations team in various ad-hoc safety duties.

Team and Impact

The Workplace Health and Safety team is vital in safeguarding employees' mental and physical health. Team members partner with management, associates, and governmental bodies to ensure compliance with internal policies and legal safety standards. Roles within this team, ranging from Technicians to Programme Managers, provide opportunities to work across diverse projects including inspections, process and equipment reviews, and design assessments.

Qualifications

• Mandatory: Health and Safety NVQ Level 3 or NEBOSH National General Certificate (or an equivalent qualification).

Desirable Qualifications

• While preferred qualifications are not required to apply, experience possessing a valid UK Driver's License, excellent communication skills with various stakeholders, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively would be advantageous.
