Position Overview
The Safety Support Officer plays a crucial role in daily safety management, including overseeing Flight Data Monitoring (FDM) and assisting in the continuous enhancement of the Management System. This role involves creating regular weekly and monthly reports while collaborating closely with Flight Operations, Ground Operations, CAMO, and Safety teams to enhance safety standards and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily assistance to the Safety and Compliance Director by managing safety and FDM processes, ensuring timely analysis and handling of safety data such as Air Safety Reports and FDM event validation.
- Conduct comprehensive Learning Reviews by analyzing digital safety and flight data to identify adverse events, root causes, correlations, and emerging trends within flight and maintenance operations.
- Prepare detailed safety trend analyses featuring charts and reports to support organizational safety initiatives.
- Compile and deliver summarized safety and FDM data to support training, maintenance, and flight operations improvements.
- Assist with Hazard Identification, perform Risk Assessments, and facilitate Risk Reviews across departments.
- Contribute to the development and publication of Safety Department materials.
- Coordinate data collection efforts for the aircraft fleet in cooperation with the Maintenance department.
- Support Safety Meetings, including documenting meeting minutes.
- Maintain and update the Emergency Response Plan regularly.
- Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Safety and Compliance Director.
Education and Experience Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Safety Management, or a related field, or possess equivalent industry qualifications and experience.
- Demonstrate prior experience in Safety Management within the aviation sector or a comparable transportation industry field.
- Familiarity with Safety Management software tools focusing on data analysis, trend identification, and presentation is expected.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to interpret complex regulations, manuals, and technical procedures, including EASA Regulations.
- Strong written communication skills suited to report writing, business correspondence, and creating procedural documentation.
- Excellent verbal communication, capable of delivering presentations to individuals, senior management, and larger audiences including industry professionals.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced work environment with evolving demands.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Physical Requirements
The role involves extensive periods of sitting and keyboard use involving computers and office equipment. Employees must be capable of auditory and visual assessments necessary to perform essential job functions, with regular talking and hearing required.
