Safety Supervisor

Overview

The Safety Supervisor role focuses on building a strong safety culture across work crews at customer sites and at central office locations. This position supports the handling of safety concerns and carries out field-level safety checks.

Key Responsibilities

• Run regular safety briefings and toolbox talks for crews either on site or during job start gatherings.
• Inspect work areas and crews frequently to spot unsafe behaviors or hazardous conditions, record the observations on standard forms, and share the findings with management and administrative teams.
• Arrange additional inspections whenever new equipment, materials, or processes are introduced, or when previously hidden hazards are identified.
• Support safety planning and hazard reviews for new assignments together with supervisors, foremen, and managers.
• Confirm that corrective actions for identified hazards are completed within an appropriate timeframe.
• Check that safety improvements recommended by insurers, safety committees, or outside safety consultants are carried out.
• Investigate work-related illnesses and injuries to identify root causes and help prevent repeat incidents.
• Prepare weekly status updates listing the projects completed during that week.
• Ensure fire extinguishers and first-aid materials are available on or near company equipment and vehicles.
• Apply company safety policies consistently and work with supervisors and managers to follow disciplinary steps when safety rules are broken.
• Promote the reporting of unsafe behaviors and hazardous conditions.
• Follow all SHE procedures before work begins and throughout the job.

Experience Requirements

Relevant oil and gas maintenance experience is required. Candidates with a High School background need at least 10 years of experience, while candidates with a Diploma need at least 8 years of experience.
