Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Restaurant Assistant Manager to join our team in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to support the daily operations and profitability of a fast-paced dining establishment. This role involves budget analysis, staff supervision, and operational planning to maintain and enhance restaurant success.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and manage the restaurant's budget to optimize and sustain profitability.
- Develop budgets covering food, ingredients, alcoholic beverages, kitchen, and cleaning supplies costs.
- Assess daily operations and make necessary adjustments to food preparation methods and menu pricing aligned with the budget.
- Oversee revenue streams and manage labor costs effectively.
- Monitor employee performance, conduct performance evaluations, and organize work schedules.
- Recruit, supervise, and lead a team of 5 to 10 staff members.
- Plan and arrange daily operational activities.
- Determine and implement appropriate services and operational procedures.
- Maintain and organize inventory effectively.
Skills and Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including MS Excel, MS Access, and MS Office.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Attention to detail, dependability, and accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding and fast-moving environment.
- Teamwork and interpersonal skills to foster a positive work atmosphere.
Qualifications and Experience
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Between 1 and 2 years of relevant experience in restaurant or similar operational management.
Working Conditions
- Position requires managing shifts including mornings, days, evenings, and weekends.
- Employment is permanent, full-time with 30 to 40 hours per week.
- Work environment is physically active and fast-paced.
- English is the working language.
