About the Role

This position is for an operations professional supporting a regulated derivatives business. The role is preferably based in the UAE, though travel there may be required if needed. The ideal candidate brings experience in financial institutions along with familiarity with derivatives exchanges, clearing houses, and regulatory or risk compliance work. Strong ownership, independent thinking, and the ability to write clear, evidence-based reports for regulators and senior leaders are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Review regulatory technical standards, build standard operating procedures aligned to those requirements, and work closely with relevant stakeholders.
• Offer guidance, independent review, and constructive challenge so operational risks are properly identified, evaluated, and controlled across business-as-usual work, new products, initiatives, and process changes.
• Carry out independent checks and daily operational monitoring under the entity’s rulebooks, and identify systemic or thematic risk patterns that may need deeper review or escalation to senior management.
• Track recurring operational cycles, confirm outcomes, and help improve processes over time.
• Periodically review operational outputs, procedures, and publicly available information to surface possible regulatory and compliance concerns.
• Partner with other teams to draft scheduled and ad hoc notifications to regulators, while keeping accurate records of major decisions and operational results.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of work, project, or operations experience in financial institutions, with a solid understanding of financial products and workflows.
• Prepared to work in the UTC +4 timezone.
• Strong knowledge of regulated derivatives exchanges and clearing houses.
• Experience in roles related to risk, controls, or regulatory compliance.
• Genuine interest in operational risk management and related subject matter.
• Adaptable mindset with a tendency to improve processes and question outdated approaches.
• Self-motivated, with the ability to balance innovative thinking and practical execution.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin, required for coordination with overseas partners and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, with a data-driven approach to resolving issues.
