Deloitte UK invites seasoned former regulatory professionals to contribute their expertise to a prestigious project in Qatar. This engagement supports a local regulatory body's fintech licensing and evaluation efforts over a four-month period, emphasizing emerging financial technologies.

Role Details

The position entails thorough review and evaluation of licensing requests related to cutting-edge fintech sectors including Stored Value Facilities, Retail Payment Services, Open Finance, and Payment Tokens. The reviewer will analyze documentation, perform applicant interviews, and maintain transparent and effective communication during the licensing process. Deliverables include detailed findings communicated clearly to internal regulatory teams and coordination with specialized departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess license applications focusing on innovative fintech domains
• Conduct comprehensive screening of applicants' documents and interviews
• Maintain effective communication with applicants and internal teams
• Collaborate with expert teams addressing AML/CFT, consumer protection, proper fit assessments, financial and business analyses, and IT process examinations
• Report findings and make recommendations to regulatory stakeholders

Candidate Profile

• Experienced former regulators with background in license application assessments
• Arabic language proficiency is mandatory
• In-depth understanding of fintech regulatory environments and contemporary payment systems
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement competencies
• Capability to cooperate across diverse specialized review units
• Willingness and availability to work onsite in Qatar; partial remote work contingent on data residency policies
