This is a senior commercial leadership position at the center of a fast-scaling medical technology organization focused on improving outcomes in complex cardiac care through electrophysiology innovations. The role blends strategic ownership, field leadership, and clinical-commercial execution across a demanding healthcare market.
You will guide a substantial, multi-level team, shape regional market strategy, and build trusted relationships with hospitals, physicians, and other key decision-makers. The position calls for someone who can turn market intelligence into practical growth plans, support adoption of new technologies, and drive strong performance across the territory. It offers broad influence over business outcomes, go-to-market direction, and long-term franchise growth.
Accountabilities
- Direct, mentor, and grow a team of more than 20 people, including sales staff and frontline leaders, to deliver strong commercial and clinical results.
- Take ownership of regional business outcomes, including revenue growth, expansion of market share, and delivery against financial targets.
- Set regional plans that are aligned with national and wider organizational priorities.
- Maintain and develop relationships with hospital customers, KOLs, and procurement groups, including regular business reviews and pipeline development.
- Drive tender and RFP activity, ensuring the team is competitive and submissions are high quality.
- Convert market trends and customer insights into business plans, product launch support, and value-based commercial initiatives.
- Work closely with marketing, finance, medical affairs, and other internal partners to execute commercial programs.
- Manage portfolio performance and allocate resources to capture the best growth opportunities.
- Support strong clinical execution through rollout of new technologies, training, and reliable case coverage.
- Track performance, adapt plans when needed, and provide updates to senior leadership.
- Develop and maintain a healthy talent pipeline while upholding leadership and compliance expectations.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of progressive business experience, preferably across sales, marketing, business development, or commercial leadership.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage other people leaders in a layered organization.
- Prior exposure to medical devices, healthcare, or electrophysiology is strongly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of hospital settings, clinical processes, and healthcare purchasing systems.
- Track record of delivering revenue growth and increasing market share in competitive markets.
- Ability to turn market understanding into practical strategy and execution plans.
- Strong relationship-building skills, especially with KOLs and senior healthcare stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing capabilities.
- Strong commercial judgment with the ability to balance strategy and day-to-day execution.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a background in Health Sciences or a related area is preferred, and an MBA is considered an advantage.
- English/French bilingual ability is a plus.
- Willingness to travel about 30%.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay that reflects experience and market standards in Canada.
- Annual incentive plan tied to performance.
- Full health, dental, and wellness coverage.
- Retirement and savings support provided by the company.
- Flexible arrangement combining field work and remote work.
- Opportunities for professional development and leadership growth.
- Exposure to advanced medical technology and innovative healthcare solutions.
- Inclusive culture grounded in collaboration and meaningful impact.
