Role Overview
The Quality Technician will assist chemists in routine laboratory operations including sampling of raw materials and finished products, maintaining laboratory cleanliness, document management, and supporting quality control processes to ensure compliance and product integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support chemists by collecting samples of incoming raw and finished products adhering to specified sampling protocols.
- Assist in inspecting raw materials, packaging supplies, and finished goods, including preparation activities such as sample grinding and preparing laboratory equipment.
- Organize and file inspection reports and distribute signed documentation appropriately.
- Contribute to maintaining cleanliness and order in the laboratory environment.
- Support development projects as directed by the chemist.
- Manage and maintain reference samples of raw materials and finished products.
- Handle incidents involving raw materials and finished products including isolation and labeling of hold pallets.
- Participate in implementing and sustaining occupational health and safety management systems at the work area, ensuring controls comply with regulations and PepsiCo standards.
Performance Metrics
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the lab.
- Ensuring timely issuance of quality reports without sampling delays.
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma degree preferred in Chemistry or relevant field.
- At least one year of experience in a manufacturing plant laboratory preferred; candidates with strong learning attitude may be considered without experience.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
- Willingness to learn and collaborate effectively within a team setting.
