Job description
Overview
The Quality Control Specialist will oversee the inspection and upkeep of both daily and long-term stock to ensure they meet the organization's quality benchmarks. This role includes systematically examining stock, recording findings accurately, and collaborating closely with multiple teams to maintain stock integrity.
Primary Duties
- Carry out daily inspections of vehicles and inventory within designated storage areas.
- Inspect long-term stock routinely to detect any deterioration, damage, defects, or quality concerns.
- Compare the condition of vehicles and stock against quality standards and checklists.
- Detect and report any scratches, dents, missing components, contaminants, battery issues, tire problems, or irregularities.
- Ensure stock is stored, parked, and handled correctly to prevent damage, especially for long-term items.
- Conduct periodic quality checks on stock kept for extended durations.
- Maintain detailed records of all inspection results using appropriate systems or tools.
- Update logs concerning any damaged or irregular stock items.
- Collaborate with warehouse, vehicle preparation center (VPC), maintenance, logistics, and operations groups to address quality issues.
- Promptly escalate major damage or recurring quality problems to supervisors.
- Track and verify that corrective measures are effectively implemented.
- Validate vehicle and stock conditions before they are moved, shipped, or released.
- Assist with stock reconciliation by comparing physical inventory to system records.
- Confirm proper identification and status labeling of vehicles and stock.
- Generate reports on stock quality daily, weekly, and over longer periods as needed.
- Monitor stock throughout varying weather to ensure protective actions are applied.
- Maintain cleanliness and adhere to 5S organizational standards within the work area.
- Comply with company safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and yard traffic rules.
- Support audit activities by supplying accurate inspection records and documentation.
- Perform additional quality control duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
- Preferred diploma or bachelor's degree in Automotive, Logistics, Quality Control, Operations, or a related discipline.
- Prior experience in automotive, warehouse, logistics, vehicle preparation centers, stock oversight, or quality inspection preferred.
- Experience handling vehicle inspections or vehicle yard operations is advantageous.
- Understanding of quality inspection processes and documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic systems.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to work in outdoor environments involving regular walking and physical inspections.
- Possession of a valid Saudi driving license may be necessary based on operational needs.
