Projects Engineer - Fitout

Role Overview

The Projects Engineer – Fitout is tasked with overseeing the planning, coordination, and supervision of interior fitout projects, ensuring that these are completed safely, promptly, within budget limits, and to the specified quality and project requirements. This role requires active engagement with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams through every phase of the project.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor fitout projects from start through to handover.
• Analyze and verify project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contractual documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee daily site operations, coordinating efforts of Site Engineers, Site Supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Develop and track project timelines to guarantee on-time completion.
• Ensure adherence to approved designs, specifications, and quality standards across all works.
• Coordinate procurement activities and track timely receipt of materials on site.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to uphold safety regulations and company policies.
• Participate in project meetings involving clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Compile progress reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
• Identify risks, technical challenges, and delays in the project and propose suitable solutions.
• Monitor costs diligently to keep the project within budget.
• Verify subcontractor progress and support payment evaluation processes.
• Arrange inspections and seek approvals from consultants and regulatory authorities.
• Ensure all snagging issues are resolved prior to formal handover.
• Prepare documentation such as as-built drawings, operation manuals, and handover packages.
• Assist the Project Manager with comprehensive project planning and delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related engineering field.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience executing interior fitout projects in the UAE.
• In-depth understanding of fitout construction techniques, materials, and finishing processes.
• Experience with commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, or office fitout projects.
• Knowledge of UAE construction codes and safety legislation.
• Holding a valid UAE driving license is considered an asset.
