Role Overview
This position leads a full patient services portfolio, covering market access reimbursement support, patient affordability initiatives, and related support programs. The role combines strategic direction, day-to-day operational control, administrative leadership, and overall program governance. Success in this job depends on delivering an excellent patient experience, meeting client expectations, staying compliant, and running efficient operations.
What You Will Do
You will direct a portfolio of HUB and affordability programs, guide teams, manage escalations, and ensure that client service levels, quality requirements, regulatory standards, and financial targets are consistently achieved. You will also work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including pharmaceutical manufacturer clients, to review performance, resolve issues, and support growth opportunities.
- Provide overall strategic and operational direction for patient support and affordability program services.
- Coach, mentor, and develop Program Managers, Supervisors, Care/Case Managers, and other operational staff.
- Plan staffing, recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Make sure programs meet or exceed SLAs, KPIs, quality benchmarks, and compliance obligations.
- Act as the main escalation contact for operational, client, and patient concerns.
- Lead business reviews and governance meetings with client stakeholders.
- Review performance data, identify risks, and implement corrective actions and ongoing improvements.
- Manage budgets, forecasting, staffing models, and resource allocation.
- Partner with internal teams on system changes, launches, and operational readiness work.
- Maintain compliance with privacy, regulatory, and industry requirements, including HIPAA, FDA, and manufacturer-specific rules.
- Support client presentations, RFP responses, implementation planning, and business development efforts.
- Improve processes through automation, technology, and best-practice operational design.
- Balance patient needs, client objectives, efficiency, and financial performance.
What We’re Looking For
This role needs an experienced leader with a background in patient services, market access, reimbursement support, hub operations, or specialty pharmacy settings. The ideal candidate brings strong strategic thinking, operational discipline, and the ability to work across functions and influence outcomes in a fast-moving environment.
- BA/BS degree is preferred.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in market access, patient affordability, specialty pharmacy, pharmaceutical, or healthcare partner environments.
- Prior management experience is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work across teams with differing priorities.
- Confident, high-integrity, energetic, and polished executive presence.
- Experience managing both direct and indirect reports.
- Comfortable coaching, mentoring, and delegating within a team-led structure.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to build relationships across levels of the organization, including senior leadership.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Solid understanding of business operations and process management.
