Production Planning Engineer / PPC Engineer

Role overview

This position is for a Production Planning Engineer / PPC Engineer based in Aurangabad. The role focuses on planning, sequencing, and overseeing manufacturing activities so production runs smoothly, delivery timelines are met, and output stays aligned with customer demand and business targets.

What you will do

• Create detailed production plans and schedules using customer orders and sales forecasts as the base.
• Track day-to-day shop-floor execution and keep production aligned with the approved plan.
• Plan and distribute machines, manpower, and materials in an efficient way to support production requirements.
• Coordinate material planning and ensure components are available on time to prevent interruptions.
• Update production-related data in ERP/MRP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar systems.
• Monitor output and key performance indicators such as schedule adherence, throughput, and inventory levels.
• Spot delays, bottlenecks, and process variations, then recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare production progress reports, performance summaries, and MIS reports for management.
• Support continuous improvement efforts, including Lean and 5S practices, and help reduce operating costs.
• Work with procurement, quality, stores, and dispatch teams to keep operations coordinated.

Skills and competencies

• Strong understanding of production planning and scheduling methods.
• Knowledge of inventory control and material requirement planning.
• Hands-on familiarity with ERP and MRP tools, especially SAP PP/MRP or similar software.
• Good command of MS Excel and other MS Office applications, including formulas, pivot tables, dashboards, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, and capacity planning.

Education and experience

• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical, production, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
• Preferably 2 to 5 years of experience in PPC or production planning within a manufacturing setup.
