Production Planning Analyst - Supply Chain

About the Role

Amazon's commitment to customer success is led by its Production Planning Team, which enhances capacity utilization across Fulfillment Centers by implementing innovative operational planning. This position demands expertise in crafting network-wide strategies aimed at operational excellence, and involves collaboration with multiple departments such as Fulfillment Center operations, Human Resources, Finance, Supply Chain, Transportation, and Workforce Staffing teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement short-term, medium-term, and long-term operational plans to optimize staffing expenses.
• Provide support for warehouse staffing and capacity forecasting through statistical modeling to facilitate collaborative decision making.
• Manage warehouse processing capacity planning data, analyze trends, identify deviations and root causes, and pinpoint opportunities for improvement.
• Analyze capacity planning data to detect patterns and suggest enhancements, presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
• Work closely with global teams, including counterparts in Europe.
• Assist in production planning and cost optimization projects.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor's degree or MBA in supply chain management, operations, engineering, analytics, or related disciplines.
• Demonstrated experience collaborating efficiently across cross-functional teams and engaging with personnel at all organizational levels.
• At least 2 years of proficiency with Excel or a relevant Bachelor's degree.
• Experience in defining and executing program requirements, utilizing data and metrics to guide improvements.
• Strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and effective communication skills; operations planning experience is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Background in operations or supply chain management.
• Familiarity with Six Sigma principles, Lean manufacturing processes, transportation logistics, or fulfillment and distribution centers.
• Ability to conceive and implement innovative models that enhance operations.
