Procurement Manager

Overview

Business Umbrella is seeking to appoint a Procurement Manager for a prominent education group in Saudi Arabia, encompassing schools and universities. This vital role, based in Jeddah and reporting directly to the Supply Chain Director, is exclusively open to Saudi nationals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee strategic sourcing and procurement of academic materials, IT and laboratory equipment, furniture, catering, and facilities services across multiple campuses.
• Coordinate and manage tendering activities including preparation of RFPs/RFQs and selection of suppliers.
• Lead negotiations on contracts and commercial agreements with both local and global suppliers.
• Maintain and regularly update an approved vendor list and conduct performance assessments of suppliers.
• Administer purchasing data within ERP systems such as SAP MM or Oracle Procurement and ensure timely processing of purchase orders.
• Implement cost-reduction strategies and assist in annual procurement budget formulation.
• Identify and mitigate supplier risks including financial stability, reliance on single sources, and compliance issues.
• Generate monthly reports on expenditures, savings achieved, and supplier performance metrics for senior management review.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• Between 5 to 10 years of relevant procurement experience, inclusive of at least 2 to 3 years in a managerial capacity.
• Possession of CIPS or CPSM certification is advantageous.
• Previous experience in the education sector is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Arabic and English languages is required.
• Applicants must be Saudi nationals.

Compensation

The monthly salary range is SAR 15,000 to SAR 25,000, contingent upon the organization's size, supplemented with standard allowances aligned with procurement salaries within the GCC education sector.
