Role overview
Superstep Capital is looking for an investment professional with 2 to 4 years of experience in investment banking and/or private equity to help evaluate M&A opportunities, research markets and companies, and construct detailed financial models. The position offers exposure to transaction execution and portfolio-related work in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial private equity environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and update detailed financial models to assess potential investments.
- Research industries, sub-sectors, and target companies.
- Support due diligence efforts by coordinating with third-party advisors and reviewing important documentation.
- Prepare investment decks, memos, and fundraising-related materials.
- Assist with deal execution, including valuation work, structuring, and negotiations.
- Analyze portfolio company performance and help prepare board materials with management teams.
- Track portfolio results and support financial reporting, analysis, and template creation.
- Contribute to investor relations activities such as quarterly valuations, reporting, and analysis.
- Take on firm-wide projects and other ad hoc tasks across deals, portfolio management, and operations.
Qualifications
- 2 to 4 years of professional experience in investment banking and/or private equity, with direct exposure to M&A execution.
- Strong ability to build financial models, along with practical understanding of valuation and transaction structures.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for working with internal teams, external stakeholders, and portfolio company leadership.
- Genuine interest in technology and/or professional services markets, plus the curiosity to develop deep domain knowledge.
- Entrepreneurial attitude and comfort working in a lean setting, handling varied responsibilities, and moving ahead with limited direction.
- Collaborative mindset and willingness to learn from senior investment professionals.
- Bachelor’s degree is mandatory; an MBA is not required.
- The role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid in-office setup.
- Candidate should be open to occasional travel.
