Private Equity Associate

About the Role

Equality Asset Management (EAM), a Boston-based private equity firm, is seeking a driven Associate to join its investment team. This full-time, onsite position in Boston involves contributing extensively to the investment process, focusing on sourcing and evaluating new opportunities, constructing data-supported investment theses, and aiding transaction execution. Workdays are Monday through Friday.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive research on industries, markets, and companies, especially within software and technology sectors.
• Identify, assess, and manage a pipeline of investment prospects consistent with the firm’s strategy and targeted sectors.
• Engage in introductory and ongoing dialogues with company founders and executives.
• Support the development of investment theses and prepare materials for investment committee review.
• Assist with all stages of deal execution, including due diligence, financial modeling, valuation assessments, and structuring of deals.
• Create presentations and analyses for internal teams, investment committee sessions, and lending parties.
• Participate in meetings with management, lenders, and diligence teams.

Candidate Qualifications

• Possess 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, transaction advisory, or related financial disciplines.
• Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, along with analytical and financial modeling expertise.
• Exhibit meticulous attention to detail and capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint applications.
