Role Overview
As a Print Specialist based in Hyderabad, India, you will play a critical role in ensuring print execution excellence for packaging designs. You will manage printing specifications, maintain technical briefs, oversee print feasibility, and coordinate production runs to ensure that the final output aligns with brand and quality standards. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including design and color specialists, and requires managing communications and schedules with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update printer specifications, including ICC profiles and technical requirements relevant to different printing technologies.
- Develop and manage the ‘Design Execution FFU Brief’ capturing printer capabilities, regional needs, budget considerations, and plant constraints.
- Prepare and disseminate preflight and print feasibility assessments to verify design readiness for production and adherence to specifications.
- Analyze and evaluate color targets from design firms to ensure consistency with printing capabilities and brand guidelines.
- Organize and lead print production meetings to track timelines, discuss updates, and resolve printing issues with stakeholders.
- Provide solutions to print feasibility challenges to maintain quality and execution standards.
- Contribute inputs to design briefs to clarify execution considerations during project kickoff meetings.
- Schedule and confirm print trial dates, coordinating team readiness and adherence to established timelines.
- Monitor production runs in-person or remotely, addressing any issues during the printing process.
- Ensure final printed outputs comply with budgetary targets and FFU (First Fill Unit) requirements.
- Collaborate with design, color, graphic, and delivery specialists to maintain consistency with established print standards on shelf.
- Work alongside MPD in printer qualification processes.
- Lead initiatives to improve print quality by implementing Print Quality Management protocols that guarantee consistency from launch onwards, including requesting production run samples and conducting periodic store audits.
- Coordinate with Purchasing for evaluating new printing vendors to ensure they meet business quality expectations.
Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor's degree in print, packaging, graphic design, visual arts, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience as a Graphic Designer or in Print Production roles.
- Proficiency with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with color management tools.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
- Effective interpersonal skills for collaborative work with various stakeholders.
- Adaptability to evolving project requirements and deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
- A creative approach with contributions towards artwork enhancements.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese languages at an advanced level.
