PMO Director

Overview

Redtree is hiring a PMO Director to create and run its project management capability as the company expands. This position is ideal for someone who wants to shape the way a growing engineering consulting business manages delivery, rather than simply applying a pre-existing framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and lead the Project Management Office, including governance, standards, and a consistent reporting rhythm across active client work.
• Work closely with engineering and delivery leaders to make sure projects are defined clearly, staffed appropriately, and tracked in a uniform way across the organization.
• Develop and manage the systems used to report project health, including visibility into budget, timelines, risks, and staffing levels for leadership.
• Spot and address resource clashes, scope expansion, and schedule threats early so they do not become issues for clients.
• Coach project managers and engineering leaders on strong project control practices and ways of working.
• Continuously improve project management methods as the firm continues to scale.
• Provide portfolio-level performance and risk updates directly to firm leadership.

Candidate Profile

• At least 8 years of project management experience, with prior ownership of a PMO or a similar project governance function.
• Background in engineering, AEC, energy, or technical consulting is required.
• PMP certification is highly desirable.
• Proven experience creating processes from scratch; this role is focused on building, not just maintaining.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present portfolio updates to executive stakeholders.
• Comfort using project management and reporting platforms such as MS Project, Primavera P6, and Power BI.
• Self-starter who can thrive in a remote, fast-paced work environment.
