Role overview

Kier Group is hiring a Planner to join its team in Suffolk, supporting the planning function on projects that are being prepared for tender and future award opportunities. What you will do

• Create, update, and maintain project programmes in Primavera P6 while working to NEC contract requirements.
• Track progress against the accepted programme and prepare weekly and monthly updates, including reports, dashboards, and KPI information.
• Contribute planning input for contractual correspondence such as early warnings, compensation events, and programme submissions.
• Work closely with project managers, site teams, commercial colleagues, and subcontractors to give practical planning guidance and support forecasting.
• Assist with scenario planning, risk management, and recovery planning to spot opportunities and reduce delivery issues.

What they are looking for

• Previous experience as a planner or scheduler in construction, civil engineering, utilities, or infrastructure.
• A solid understanding of NEC contract processes and requirements.
• Strong ability to use P6 planning software, with knowledge of critical path analysis, resource planning, and earned value methods.
• A degree, or equivalent qualification, in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build cooperative working relationships.
