Overview
We are looking for a meticulous and well-organized Payroll Specialist responsible for overseeing and carrying out all payroll operations promptly and with precision. This role involves ensuring adherence to all federal, state, and local payroll regulations, maintaining detailed employee payroll records, and delivering exceptional assistance to both employees and management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll process for several locations, guaranteeing accuracy and punctuality.
- Keep payroll documentation and employee information up to date and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with relevant federal, state, and local payroll laws and policies.
- Work closely with Human Resources and Finance teams to resolve any payroll discrepancies.
- Respond professionally to payroll-related questions from staff and management.
- Compile payroll reports and support audit processes as well as internal reporting requirements.
- Remain informed on recent changes in payroll rules, tax legislation, and payroll best practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related discipline.
- Between 2 and 4 years of experience in payroll processing, ideally handling multi-state payrolls.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems and payroll procedures.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite; familiarity with payroll software considered a plus.
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to numerical details.
- Excellent organizational abilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Capability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive payroll information discreetly.
