Payroll Officer

Job Overview

Kaizen High School is seeking a meticulous Payroll Officer to join its Finance Department. This role involves managing comprehensive payroll activities, ensuring compliance with statutory laws, handling tax deductions, EOBI administration, and performing payroll reconciliations. Familiarity with Pakistan's payroll regulations and payroll software, particularly Meezan Payroll, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately process monthly payroll within set deadlines, including preparing salary sheets and payroll calculations.
• Manage payroll components such as overtime, leave deductions, bonuses, incentives, and final settlements.
• Verify payroll data prior to salary distribution maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Calculate monthly income tax deductions compliant with FBR guidelines and maintain detailed tax records.
• Support annual tax reconciliations and issuance of employee tax certificates.
• Register employees with EOBI, process monthly contributions, and maintain related documentation ensuring timeliness and compliance.
• Reconcile payroll with attendance, leave, and employee records; oversee payroll adjustments, salary revisions, increments, promotions, deductions, and finalize settlements for departing employees.
• Ensure payroll adherence to company policies and Pakistani labor and taxation laws while assisting in audits and maintaining all necessary documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• Two to three years of experience handling payroll processes.
• Comprehensive understanding of Pakistan Payroll laws, Income Tax, and EOBI regulations.
• Hands-on experience with Meezan Payroll Software is preferred.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, and conditional formulas.
• Exceptional numerical precision, analytical capabilities, and ability to maintain confidentiality under tight deadlines.
