Role Overview
The role of Pattern Maker (Foundry) based in Kolhapur involves creating and fabricating patterns specifically for Cylinder Head Castings. This position demands ensuring that patterns meet dimensional precision, include proper contouring, and account for allowances suited to processes like shell moulding, shell core, Greensand, and Nobake. Responsibilities include interpreting engineering blueprints and specifications, assembling and fine-tuning pattern parts, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to uphold quality. Daily duties also feature inspecting patterns for defects, maintaining organized pattern storage and documentation, engaging in continuous design improvements, and rigorously observing safety protocols in a clean and orderly workspace.
Qualification and Skills
- Proficient in pattern design and making within foundry settings.
- Skilled in fitting and precise assembly of pattern components for high-accuracy castings.
- Competent in utilizing Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to read, modify, and create pattern drawings.
- Experience with sewing or similar finishing techniques relevant to fabric or flexible pattern materials when needed.
- Technical diploma or certification in foundry technology, mechanical engineering, or pattern making is an asset.
- Prior knowledge of shell moulding, shell core, Greensand, Nobake processes, and casting diesel engine parts is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail, ability to interpret engineering diagrams, and dedication to quality and safety protocols.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and independently manage tasks in a precision manufacturing environment.
