About the Role
Aleknagik Technology, LLC (ATL) is looking for a meticulous and well-organized Paralegal to support attorneys and investigators working on public safety oversight, regulatory compliance, enforcement actions, and legal policy matters. The candidate will be responsible for managing case files, conducting thorough legal research, supporting litigation efforts, and preparing related documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive legal research regarding legislation, regulations, and Federal civil rights requirements using computerized legal databases like LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Analyze relevant legal precedents and draft summaries, verify legal citations, and prepare formal correspondence based on findings.
- Collect, organize, and review detailed factual and documentary materials to support office investigations and compliance reviews.
- Maintain and manage office case management and complaint tracking systems by entering case information and accessing relevant legal resources for attorney use.
- Assist attorneys in investigative and compliance activities, including locating and interviewing witnesses and performing supporting tasks.
- Perform administrative duties such as scanning case documents and maintaining electronic filing systems as needed.
Required Qualifications
- An Associate degree or certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA-accredited program.
- At least 2 to 5 years of paralegal experience, ideally within governmental, regulatory, or public safety environments.
- Solid understanding of legal terminology, procedures, and administrative law processes.
- Proficiency using legal research platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis along with Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, keen attention to detail, and effective time management skills.
