About the Hotel
The Hoxton has launched its first property in Ireland, located in Dublin, a city known for its history, parks, arts, music, and lively food and drink scene. The hotel features 129 rooms in different sizes, plus a lobby bar, a historic bar, a large restaurant on the ground floor, a lobby restaurant, and a nightclub.

Role Overview
The Painter & Maintenance Technician will help keep the hotel in excellent condition, with a strong focus on appearance, safety, and functionality. The role covers painting, repair work, and general maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas so the property remains well presented and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake interior and exterior painting work, including surface preparation, priming, sanding, and achieving a polished finish.
- Carry out regular paint touch-ups in bedrooms, corridors, and shared areas to maintain high presentation standards.
- Repair and renew walls, ceilings, wood surfaces, and similar finishes when required.
- Complete basic repair work in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry tasks within your level of competence.
- Act quickly on maintenance requests raised by guests and colleagues.
- Inspect guest rooms and other important areas on a routine basis to help keep them ready for use.
- Assemble and fix furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Assist with refurbishment work, planned maintenance, events support, and seasonal decoration setup.
- Follow safety procedures, use protective equipment properly, and comply with fire, health and safety, and environmental rules.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a painter/decorator or as a general maintenance operative.
- Solid hands-on ability, practical troubleshooting skills, and attention to detail.
- Confidence to work on your own, organise priorities, and communicate effectively with the wider team.
- Experience in hotels or commercial buildings, along with relevant trade qualifications, will be viewed favourably.
- Physical capability for an active role involving manual work, lifting, and working at heights, with reasonable adjustments available where required by law.
Additional Information
This is an active, practical position that involves working across the hotel, using tools, lifting, bending, and other manual tasks. During busy periods or when urgent repairs are needed, some evening or weekend work may be required. You may also occasionally encounter dust, fumes, and noise, with suitable protective equipment provided.
