Operations Safety Assurance & Certification Lead

Overview

The Operations Safety Assurance & Certification Lead plays a critical role in spearheading the development, coordination, submission, and continual validation of the Company's Operations Safety Case. Acting as the key liaison across Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Asset Management, and Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) teams, this position ensures comprehensive safety management throughout the railway lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the Company’s Operations & Maintenance Hazard Log, ensuring thorough identification, evaluation, mitigation, transfer, and closure of operational and maintenance hazards.
• Develop and implement safety assurance procedures aligned with industry standards such as EN 50126 (RAMS lifecycle), EN 50128, EN 50129, and the Common Safety Method for Risk Evaluation and Assessment (CSM-RA) or equivalent frameworks recognized by National Safety Authorities.
• Engage with Independent Safety Assessors, Engineering Independent Safety Assessors, National Safety Authorities, Safety Assurance Review Boards, and Change Control Review Boards to manage safety assurance interfaces effectively.
• Prepare, validate, and maintain safety arguments, assurance evidence, and safety requirement documentation necessary to secure regulatory approvals for Testing & Commissioning, trial operations, and full Entry into Service.
• Lead safety assurance and certification efforts as defined in the Operational Readiness Plan prior to commercial operations.
• After Entry into Service, uphold and update the Operations Safety Case and assurance processes in response to operational changes, asset modifications, incident feedback, and continuous safety improvement initiatives.

Additional Information

The role is situated in Abu Dhabi Emirate, United Arab Emirates, requiring full-time onsite presence. The position demands the ability to interface with multiple stakeholders and uphold stringent railway safety standards throughout the asset lifecycle.
