Veolia New Zealand specializes in providing comprehensive water, waste, and energy management services. Their responsibilities include operating and maintaining water and wastewater treatment facilities, managing distribution systems, and delivering innovative water solutions for both municipal and industrial clients throughout New Zealand. Additionally, they offer waste management and resource recovery services, encompassing collection, treatment, and recycling of various waste types.
Role Overview
We are seeking a Network Operator to join our team in Waipawa, Central Hawkes Bay, responsible for the operation and upkeep of water, wastewater, and stormwater reticulation systems within the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate within a team to manage the operations and maintenance of the Central Hawkes Bay three waters networks
- Install new connections and assets; assist in renewal projects for networks and treatment facilities
- Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance tasks for the three waters systems
- Serve as a customer service contact point for queries and service requests
- Maintain precise records and complete all required documentation related to reports and tasks
- Perform general duties contributing to effective service provision for the community and clients
- Participate in an on-call rotation as part of job requirements
Qualifications and Skills Required
- Possession of a valid Class 1 driver's license; Class 2 license is advantageous
- Wheels, Tracks and Roller endorsements preferred but available to obtain for suitable candidates
- Experience in three waters operations such as maintenance of reticulated networks, drain laying, wastewater management, or civil construction work
- Preferred National Certification in Pipeline and Construction Maintenance or equivalent credentials
- Training and experience in Traffic Management (TMO - STMS Category A/B)
- Proven capability to maintain comprehensive and accurate work-related records
- Willingness and ability to work outside normal hours when necessary
- Strong organizational and communication abilities
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in computer usage
- Commitment to workplace health and safety standards
- Additional advantage: IW4 Pipeline and Construction certification
