Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Overview

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute expertise in designing and optimizing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems for large-scale projects. The role involves developing HVAC systems, plumbing networks, water treatment solutions, and fire safety installations while ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and optimize HVAC systems, including central plant, air distribution, and control systems.
• Perform load calculations and energy modeling for system sizing and configuration.
• Design and supervise installation of domestic water supply, sanitary drainage, and stormwater drainage systems.
• Ensure adherence to local plumbing regulations and codes.
• Plan and oversee Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants, and solid waste treatment facility installations.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, technical specifications, and engineering calculations.
• Collaborate with civil, structural, and electrical engineers for integrated system design.
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers to guarantee timely and quality execution.
• Conduct water quality assessments to define treatment needs and select suitable technologies.
• Coordinate with environmental agencies for necessary approvals and permits.
• Design and supervise implementation of fire alarm, sprinkler, and hydrant systems.
• Perform fire safety risk assessments and ensure compliance with fire safety codes.
• Coordinate inspections and approval processes with local fire authorities.
• Conduct site visits to monitor installation and commissioning activities.
• Review design documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Support manager during design reviews and technical discussions with project stakeholders.
• Communicate requirements and expectations effectively across teams.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• LEED or other sustainability-related certifications preferred.

Experience & Skills

• Between 4 and 8 years of experience designing and executing MEP systems in large projects.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing, fire safety, HVAC codes, and water quality standards.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Expertise in design software and engineering standards.
• Analytical thinking and innovation capability.
