Role Summary
This position requires a proactive leader responsible for the entire scheduling process, including master production scheduling, exception management in MRP/APS, ERP planning adherence, forecasting, capacity and material oversight, and quick data-informed decisions to meet customer demands efficiently. The candidate embraces rapid workflows and leverages AI to enhance productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the master production schedule, daily job release priorities, and planning executions.
- Handle MRP/APS exception management and resolve issues related to materials, capacity, scheduling, and data constraints.
- Balance priorities among customer demand, inventory goals, production capacity, and material availability.
- Maintain planning-related ERP master data, parameters, and assumptions.
- Create and utilize dashboards, reports, AI-driven tools, and automation to boost efficiency and responsiveness.
- Identify recurring planning issues and spearhead practical root cause solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Service to synchronize priorities.
- Support SIOP inputs, provide forecast insights, manage lead-time projections, and set realistic delivery timelines.
- Drive improvements in planning accuracy, inventory management, schedule reliability, and on-time delivery.
- Facilitate monthly SIOP process and manage forecast assumptions and ERP forecasts aligned to business directives.
- Investigate and resolve planning exceptions using ERP, MRP, and APS tools based on impact and urgency.
- Release and manage manufacturing jobs to align with customer and production priorities, championing digital planning and scheduling process enhancement.
- Work with manufacturing to define capacities, maintain ERP capacity data, and proactively address capacity constraints.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of ERP planning data, investigate errors, and deploy corrective measures.
- Collaborate with engineering on change implementation to minimize scheduling disruptions, avoid shortages, and reduce excess or obsolete inventory.
- Manage inventory adjustments, root cause analysis, and corrective actions regarding inventory discrepancies.
- Communicate with Customer Service and Sales to provide lead-time guidance, schedule transparency, and delivery expectations.
- Oversee transfer order procedures between facilities per department policies.
- Support production in resolving issues related to shortages, scheduling, and ERP accuracy.
- Maintain and update Planning Department procedures ensuring ISO compliance.
- Undertake special projects and participate in cross-functional teams focused on safety, quality, delivery, inventory, productivity, and cost improvements through continuous improvement efforts.
- Adhere to safety and workplace regulations.
- Stay current on planning practices, ERP tools, supply chain innovations, automation, and AI technologies through ongoing education.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business, or similar field or commensurate experience.
- Minimum five years of experience in planning, scheduling, supply chain, or intense ERP-driven manufacturing environment.
- Strong command of forecasting, inventory management, capacity planning, and production scheduling methodologies.
- ERP system experience required; familiarity with Infor CSI/Syteline preferred.
- APICS/ASCM certification is desirable.
- Proficient in leveraging data analytics, automation, and AI tools to enhance operational performance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making abilities within fast-paced settings.
- Effective communication and collaborative skills across functions.
- Must hold a valid driver's license.
