Manufacturing Engineer

About the Role

Yibi Precision seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to contribute to our Metal Injection Molding (MIM) and precision metal parts manufacturing initiatives, serving international clients in diverse technical and industrial sectors. This position involves collaboration with engineering, tooling, production, quality assurance, and commercial teams to evaluate manufacturing feasibility, develop samples, enhance processes, and ensure smooth mass production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess customer technical drawings, specifications, and tolerances to determine manufacturing feasibility.
• Participate in design for manufacturing reviews, sample creation, trial runs, and process confirmation for MIM components and precision metals.
• Collaborate with tooling, production, and quality teams to identify risks and develop improved manufacturing approaches.
• Support introduction of new products from technical evaluation through to consistent mass production.
• Investigate production challenges and contribute to improving process stability, product uniformity, and overall yield and productivity.
• Optimize manufacturing steps related to materials, tooling, forming, sintering, machining, surface finishing, and quality inspection processes.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, process logs, sample feedback, and project reports.
• Coordinate with internal groups to meet customer requirements, delivery schedules, and resolve technical issues.
• Advocate and implement continuous improvement initiatives aimed at quality, cost reduction, delivery speed, and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or engineering fields involving precision metal parts, MIM, CNC machining, powder metallurgy, tooling, automotive, electronics, or medical device industries.
• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, product specifications, and manufacturing criteria.
• Knowledge of production workflows, sample development cycles, process improvement techniques, and problem-solving in manufacturing contexts.
• Strong problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to details.
• Effective communication abilities to collaborate across multifunctional teams.
• Motivated to acquire knowledge of MIM manufacturing and support projects from initial evaluation to serial production.

• Preferred but not mandatory:
• Hands-on experience with MIM, powder metallurgy, and precision parts in sectors such as locks, tools, automotive, electronics, or medical devices.
• Background in design for manufacturing reviews, sample validation, process enhancement, product launches, or scaling production.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949 standards, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 5S methodology, or lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
• English language proficiency to support global customer communications and projects.
