Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

The Maintenance Supervisor at Qatar Fabrication Company spearheads a technical team comprising maintenance foremen and technicians to deliver efficient maintenance operations following directives from the Engineer/Planner. A core responsibility lies in rigorously adhering to the SAP PM maintenance plan and accommodating specific onsite requirements. The role demands proficient trade knowledge and technical expertise to swiftly address and rectify equipment malfunctions.

Site Management Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and motivate maintenance foremen and technicians to ensure effective maintenance task execution.
• Offer technical advice and cultivate a collaborative environment geared towards consistent improvement.
• Oversee maintenance for various equipment categories including fixed machinery (CNC, PLC-based, hydraulic, welding, blasting/painting apparatus), portable tools (welders, grinders, torches, rollers), mobile plants (forklifts, MEWPs, compressors, generators), workshop facilities equipment and mechanical utilities.
• Manage transportation and lifting gear such as overhead cranes, mobile cranes, transporters, power hoists, hydraulic jacks, and load measurement devices.
• Implement Toolbox Talks (TBT) and preparatory briefings to ensure compliance with QFAB's Quality, Health, Safety, Environment & Security (QHSES) standards.
• Support Permit to Work (PTW) processes, energy isolation, HIT card adherence, and other pertinent safety protocols.
• Work with the Maintenance Engineer on quality assessments and use of precision/specialized tools.

Maintenance Work Order Oversight

• Supervise timely and effective completion of maintenance tasks as assigned by the Engineer or Planner.
• Ensure all activities conform to procedural, safety, and quality standards.
• Document manhours and resource usage in SAP PM work orders for Engineering review.
• Recommend spare parts and external service needs to the Maintenance Engineer for approval.
• Submit comprehensive completion reports, detailing findings, actions taken, and unresolved issues.
• Follow departmental maintenance workflow meticulously.

SAP PM Plan Compliance and Data Management

• Maintain strict conformance to SAP PM scheduling, execution, and documentation requirements.
• Regularly evaluate team adherence to work order obligations and deadlines.
• Ensure accurate data entry and up-to-date status reporting within SAP PM, verifying data completeness routinely.

Equipment Failure Resolution

• Apply technical expertise to promptly troubleshoot and fix equipment breakdowns.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders for effective problem diagnosis and solution implementation.
• Take necessary actions upon breakdown notifications under guidance from Maintenance Engineer when needed.

Communication and Coordination

• Liaise closely with Production supervisors concerning equipment issues and relay critical information to the Maintenance Engineer for operational improvements.
• Coordinate equipment availability and maintenance timing with production to optimize condition assessments and minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechatronics disciplines with relevant work experience.
• A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance environments is required.

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar.
Preference will be given to Qatari nationals.
Reporting line: Maintenance Engineer.
