About the Role
Our upscale care residence in Lennoxtown provides exceptional Residential, Dementia, Respite, and Nursing care to 96 residents. We are seeking a Maintenance Officer dedicated to maintaining a safe, well-functioning, and comfortable environment for all occupants through hands-on maintenance tasks.
You will be responsible for carrying out various maintenance duties involving the building and its grounds, including repairs, routine inspections, installations, and general upkeep. Ensuring that all equipment and systems operate safely and efficiently is crucial, as is promptly identifying and addressing any issues.
Collaboration with the Home Manager and staff will be necessary for maintenance planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing contractors when needed. All activities must comply with health and safety regulations to maintain a secure and effective facility.
Responsibilities
- Perform diverse maintenance tasks throughout the building and surrounding property, such as repairs, inspections, and installations.
- Ensure all equipment and facility systems function safely and efficiently by conducting routine checks.
- Identify potential issues early and undertake timely corrective measures to prevent escalation.
- Work collaboratively with the Home Manager and team to strategize maintenance schedules and coordinate contractors.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant health and safety standards in all maintenance activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous work experience in maintenance, facilities management, or a comparable practical role.
- Strong understanding of building upkeep, general repairs, and electrical maintenance.
- Ability to operate independently and effectively manage workload and priorities.
- Knowledge of health and safety guidelines applicable to maintenance operations.
- Proactive in approach, with practical problem-solving skills.
- Dependable, organized, and capable of efficiently resolving issues.
Additional Details
- Contract: Maintenance Officer position with a 40-hour workweek.
- Hourly wage of £13.52.
- Benefits include paid Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership, pension contributions, and uniform provision.
- Annual leave entitlement totals 5.6 weeks based on full-time employment.
