Loss Prevention Specialist

Role Overview

Amazon's operations network, celebrated for its speed and precision, delivers countless packages and satisfaction daily. To safeguard this network and ensure uninterrupted operations, we're searching for a hands-on, detail-focused Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) Specialist. This role involves safeguarding our personnel and assets across the complete supply chain.

Key Duties

• Enhance business continuity by aiding emergency and crisis planning for assigned sites.
• Identify vulnerabilities like loss risks, associate experiences, and process improvements; propose and implement mitigation actions while ensuring adherence to legal and ethical guidelines.
• Act as liaison with local management and external entities (law enforcement, industry bodies) on all security matters.
• Ensure compliance with Amazon's global security standards at assigned locations.

Daily Activities

As an SLP Specialist, you will join a team dedicated to security services for various business units within your region. Responsibilities include regular physical security audits, investigating policy breaches, security incidents, and loss events.

You'll gather information via monitoring systems, analyzing reports, and conducting interviews to identify process weaknesses and suggest improvements.

Maintaining the physical security of sites involves auditing system health and collaborating with experts and external providers to ensure optimal functionality. Daily interactions with security vendors help maintain high-quality protection and seamless experiences.

You will also coordinate with internal departments (legal, HR) and external bodies to provide expertise on security and loss prevention and deliver related training and awareness programs across teams.

About the Team

Part of Amazon's Global Security Operations, Security and Loss Prevention supports business aims by guarding against threats and managing risks that could endanger associates, disrupt operations, damage assets, or harm brand reputation. The team secures the supply chain end-to-end by proactively addressing vulnerabilities, swiftly responding to incidents to reduce harm, and thoroughly investigating to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Experience in security, asset protection, loss prevention, risk or inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, or compliance.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook in a professional setting.
• Fluent German speaking, writing, and reading skills.
• Business-level English communication abilities, both spoken and written.

Preferred Attributes

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of physical security best practices, including systems application, investigation methods, and managing contract security personnel.
• Experience in distribution centers, logistics, or manufacturing environments.
• Competency in working with data and analytics.
• Valid driver's license.
