Position Overview
The Logistics Technologist plays an essential role within the regulated pharmaceutical supply chain, where precision and adherence to compliance are critical to maintaining product quality and safety. This position involves hands-on logistics operations combined with continuous improvement efforts, covering areas such as operations, inventory management, and procurement.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage seamless material flow including receiving goods, conducting sampling, tanker unloading, staging materials, storage, and organizing shipments.
- Perform all logistics functions in strict alignment with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Warehousing Practices (GWP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
- Operate and maintain various handling equipment such as forklifts, Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) trucks, and Powered Pallet Trucks (PPTs).
- Ensure inventory accuracy through timely receipt entries, stock transactions, execution of cycle counts, and monthly inventory reporting.
- Support waste management processes for both solid and liquid waste while contributing to efficiency and process enhancements.
- Assist procurement by monitoring stock levels, generating purchase orders, maintaining supplier communications, and updating relevant systems.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately and report deviations or unusual events without delay.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum educational attainment: Leaving Certificate; additional qualifications in Supply Chain or Material Handling are advantageous.
- Two to three years of relevant work experience within a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated sector; essential warehouse experience required.
- Valid licenses for operating forklifts, Very Narrow Aisle trucks, and Powered Pallet Trucks.
- Familiarity with SAP or comparable Warehouse Management Systems.
- Excellent communication capabilities, ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in regulated environments, and display flexibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word; capability to work safely at heights.
- Additional certifications in dangerous goods handling, Lean or Six Sigma methodologies, and First Aid or Emergency Response Team (ERT) training are beneficial.
