Overview

JD.com, a renowned technology and service provider with a foundation in supply chain innovation, is seeking a meticulous and proactive Logistics Officer based in Dubai, UAE. This role focuses on managing customs documentation, clearance, and compliance for import/export activities across the UAE and GCC region, playing a critical role in facilitating smooth shipment processes and regulatory conformity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepare, validate, and submit customs documents such as invoices, air waybills, packing lists, and HS codes adhering to UAE customs rules and international trade standards.
  • Utilize JDL and related customs platforms to ensure compliance with UAE, GCC, and international trade legislation, managing bonded zones and exemptions effectively.
  • Coordinate import/export customs clearance for air, sea, and land shipments including full container loads (FCL), less than container loads (LCL), break bulk cargo, B2B, and B2C shipments, liaising with customs authorities, free zones like JAFZA, and mainland UAE stakeholders.
  • Compute and handle customs duties and taxes, ensuring prompt payments and maintaining accurate financial reconciliations.
  • Generate invoices for duties, taxes, and clearance charges, collaborating with finance teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure proper collections.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with clients regarding customs procedures, duty obligations, and shipment status, coordinating with freight forwarders, officials, and vendors.
  • Oversee shipments from port arrival to warehouse delivery, manage cross-border logistics within the GCC, and coordinate trucking and shipment tracking operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in logistics operations, customs clearance, and trade compliance within the UAE market.
  • In-depth understanding of UAE customs regulations, GCC trade laws, and HS code classifications.
  • Proficiency with customs management tools including JDL and billing systems.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments in high-pressure environments.
