Roda is building a more convenient car service experience by bringing vehicle servicing to customers instead of requiring trips to a service center. The company focuses on saving customers time and money through on-demand pick-up and drop-off support, whether they are at home or at work.
This is a small startup team based in the greater DMV area. The company is hiring a Valet Operations Lead to handle the everyday logistics that keep the auto repair operation running smoothly. The right person will bring a startup mindset, work well in a fast-moving environment, have a background in dispatch, customer service, and/or team management, and enjoy contributing ideas that improve the business.
Role Overview
The Logistics, Detail & Wash Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating vehicle collection and delivery services while managing daily logistics for auto repair operations. The position involves organizing valet drivers, planning vehicle movement, and supporting a small towing function to keep service safe, efficient, and on schedule.
Logistics & Dispatch Coordination
- Create and improve daily routing plans for valet drivers and towing activity.
- Assign drivers and tow operators according to service requirements and urgency.
- Monitor vehicle whereabouts and keep movement records accurate and up to date.
- Work with service advisors and technicians to match vehicle flow with shop capacity.
- Manage staging, parking, and movement of vehicles so operations continue without interruption.
Towing Operations
- Supervise a small towing function, including scheduling and dispatch activity.
- Make sure towing work follows safety standards and local regulations.
- Keep towing equipment ready for use and arrange basic inspections and maintenance.
Team Leadership & Accountability
- Guide and support valet drivers, including hiring help, onboarding, coaching, and performance oversight.
- Manage scheduling and supervision for dispatch and wash teams in a busy environment.
- Set clear output expectations and review performance results regularly.
- Train team members on efficient processes, safety practices, and quality standards.
- Respond quickly to workflow bottlenecks, delays, or gaps in team performance.
Operational Performance
- Deliver a high-quality valet experience that meets or exceeds service expectations and SLAs.
- Track operational metrics such as trips per day, on-time rate, and cost per trip.
- Spot process gaps and introduce improvements that increase efficiency.
- Maintain an organized lot to support a high volume of vehicles.
Client Communication
- Arrange customer vehicle pick-ups and deliveries.
- Act as the main contact for valet service questions and status updates.
- Keep customers informed promptly about service progress and delivery windows.
- Handle customer requests professionally and resolve service issues proactively.
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in logistics, quality and vendor management, transportation, or last-mile delivery. A background in managing delivery or driver networks is preferred, along with a track record of providing excellent customer experiences. Strong analytical ability is important, including the capacity to review data and turn it into practical operational recommendations. The role also requires ownership of transportation network planning and execution to support growth and expansion, plus the ability to reduce costs and identify the root causes of defects. Strong organization, time management, quick decision-making, adaptability, communication, and leadership skills are essential.
