The Opportunity

We are looking for a well-organized and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our Contract Engineering team based in Wymondham. This pivotal role involves supporting project teams by managing global logistics, supervising sub-vendor order expediting, and ensuring seamless administrative processes. You will act as the key liaison among suppliers, internal teams, and clients, ensuring engineering projects proceed efficiently, compliantly, and punctually.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee global shipping and transportation of materials, components, and equipment.
• Collaborate with logistics providers to guarantee adherence to customs and import/export laws.
• Monitor shipments, resolve any delays, and sustain on-time delivery schedules.
• Prepare precise shipping documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, and customs paperwork.
• Utilize knowledge of customs compliance including HS codes and serve as the primary point of contact for trade compliance matters.
• Enhance logistics workflows to lower costs and increase efficiency.
• Manage export packing both internally and with third-party craters, ensuring proper materials, markings, weights, and dimensions.
• Maintain effective communication with internal teams, clients, and agents on export-related concerns.
• Proactively expedite sub-vendor orders and share relevant updates with stakeholders.
• Identify and propose improvements for logistics and departmental operations.
• Support the development of enhanced logistics practices and methodologies.
• Serve as the main contact for project logistics inquiries.
• Facilitate transparent communication among internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
• Draft professional correspondence including emails, letters, and memos.
• Work closely with the Contracts Manager and Project Managers to swiftly address and resolve issues.
• Uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and solid working relationships with all stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Excellent organizational skills capable of handling multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of purchasing, logistics, and project coordination functions.
• Capacity to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in work.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in logistics coordination, particularly with international shipping and customs compliance.
• Familiarity with procurement within engineering or construction sectors.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 or comparable quality management standards.
• Background in electrical or mechanical engineering environments is advantageous.
