Lifting Specialist

Role Overview

Wood is seeking a Lifting Specialist to lead a team responsible for executing lifting operations safely on site. The role involves acting as the Client's representative, managing project activities at the client's location under their guidance.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate lifting procedures submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with company and project standards.
• Ensure all lifting activities are executed according to approved methods and protocols.
• Supervise and coordinate personnel and equipment involved in lifting operations, collaborating closely with HSE, QA/QC, and construction superintendents.
• Inspect, report, and oversee all aspects of lifting to guarantee full adherence to design specifications, planning, safety standards, and lifting management systems.
• Promote site safety by following safety rules and assisting the site team in maintaining safe conditions.
• Participate in project meetings as necessary.
• Conduct audits on contractor lifting equipment and verify certifications.
• Deliver training sessions on lifting, rigging techniques, and safe work practices.
• Maintain accurate documentation and prepare daily reports for the project organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• At least 10 years’ experience in lift management practices and systems.
• Knowledge of lifting limiting devices and their safety functions.
• Familiarity with various crane types used in projects, including crawler and mobile cranes.
• Understanding of all facets of lifting studies such as crane load charts, ground bearing capacity effects, and preparation of lifting plans.
• Proficiency in English communication, both spoken and written.
• Experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical industries.
• Competent in using standard computer software packages.
