Role Overview

We are seeking a Laboratory Technician to support and enhance laboratory operations. This role involves executing lab technical tasks, assisting staff in research procedures, maintaining lab infrastructure, ensuring lab safety, and managing inventory and documentation with precision.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute assigned lab technical and operational tasks to support daily activities and projects.
• Maintain smooth daily laboratory workflow and operations.
• Assist scientists and lab personnel with research-related tasks and technical procedures.
• Monitor and help maintain lab infrastructure and equipment functionality.
• Clean, disinfect, and prepare lab tools and materials following established protocols and biosafety standards.
• Conduct routine maintenance and basic checks on laboratory equipment; report any faults or anomalies.
• Organize and ensure proper storage and handling of lab materials and consumables.
• Participate in inventory control, stock monitoring, and supply management.
• Accurately record and report laboratory data using designated systems and forms.
• Ensure documentation consistency, traceability, and proper record-keeping for lab procedures and activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Laboratory Sciences, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of two years experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, genetics, academic research, diagnostics, environmental, veterinary, genomics or life science labs is considered an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of lab procedures, sample handling, and best laboratory practices.
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment, instrumentation, and routine maintenance tasks.
• Ability to adhere to SOPs, biosafety protocols, and lab safety regulations.
• Basic understanding of molecular biology techniques such as DNA/RNA handling, sample prep, and PCR support is beneficial.
• Aptitude for basic troubleshooting and reporting of equipment or infrastructure issues.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation, data reporting, and inventory tasks.
• Proficient in written and spoken English.
