Role Overview

The Junior Data Scientist role within the Insights & Strategy team is a unique opportunity to work at the crossroads of consumer insight, customer analytics, and data science. This position will integrate consumer perceptions, market trends, external indicators, and customer behaviors to provide the business with an enhanced understanding of current conditions and future possibilities. The role involves collaboration within the Insights & Strategy team and connection to the Advanced Analytics Hub for support, coaching, and technical development.

This is a 12-month contract position with a hybrid working arrangement requiring three days onsite per week.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a data and analytics advocate within the Insights & Strategy team, improving analytical methods, storytelling, and insight delivery.
• Identify gaps in data and opportunities to deepen consumer and market insights by integrating additional data sources.
• Bridge the Insights & Strategy team with emerging analytics tools and innovations from the Advanced Analytics Hub.
• Combine consumer research, customer behavior analysis, and market data to produce actionable insights.
• Integrate internal and external datasets to recognize emerging trends, opportunities, and risks.
• Employ analytical and statistical approaches to understand behaviors, measure opportunities, and aid strategic decisions.
• Cleanse, process, and validate data to guarantee the reliability of analyses.
• Develop forecasting capabilities to anticipate future consumer and customer trends.
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and translate results into clear, actionable recommendations using presentations and data narratives.
• Explore artificial intelligence and new technology to enhance insight discovery and generation.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience applying analytics via academic projects, internships, or early career roles.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python programming.
• Excellent analytical thinking, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience handling and analyzing datasets.
• Curiosity about consumer behavior, business strategy, and data's role in decision-making.
• Self-driven with eagerness to learn and take initiative.
• Interest in retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and customer analytics.

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to data visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalents.
• Experience in consumer insight, behavioral analytics, or market research contexts.
• Familiarity with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or predictive analytics methods.
