Opportunity
TSL is hiring a Junior Buyer for its Procurement Team in Frankfurt. This role suits a recent graduate or someone with up to 2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or commercial roles who wants to build a long-term career in a fast-growing international construction environment.
Working with experienced procurement specialists, the successful candidate will gain hands-on exposure to major engineering and construction projects while developing commercial awareness, negotiation ability, and supplier management skills.
Responsibilities
- Support sourcing activities for materials, equipment, and services across multiple projects.
- Prepare and track purchase orders in line with internal procedures.
- Assist with RFQ processes and compare supplier quotations.
- Follow up with suppliers on quotes, delivery timelines, and order confirmations.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
- Help with supplier onboarding and upkeep of supplier records.
- Track supplier delivery performance and support issue resolution when delays or supply problems arise.
- Keep procurement files, records, and documentation accurate and up to date.
- Assist with contract administration and filing tasks.
- Support price benchmarking, market research, and cost analysis.
- Ensure procurement activity follows company policies and procedures.
- Work with project, engineering, planning, and finance teams to support delivery.
- Help ensure materials arrive on time to keep project schedules on track.
- Respond to and help resolve procurement-related questions from project teams.
- Learn procurement best practices in an active project setting.
- Contribute to team improvement initiatives within Procurement.
- Build commercial understanding and negotiation skills under senior guidance.
Requirements
- Recent graduate in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar field, or up to 2 years of relevant procurement/purchasing experience.
- Strong organisational and administrative capability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal ability.
- Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Motivated to learn and grow in a procurement career.
- Able to manage several tasks in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Fluent English is required.
- German language ability is an advantage.
- Must already have the legal right to work in Germany.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
- Should live within commuting distance of Frankfurt or be willing to relocate independently.
