Role overview
This position is part of the Treasury & Investment Operations team within a public sector organisation in Doha. The role focuses on handling the full workflow of investment transaction processing and settlement for FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE instruments, while supporting control, compliance, and timely closure of open cases.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out the operational duties allocated by the Section Head of Treasury & Investment Operations, following local regulations as well as the organisation’s internal policies and procedures.
- Collect, check, and log documents authorised by internal teams and other stakeholders for FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE transactions in line with the approval matrix and the relevant operations policy.
- Keep the FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE transaction records current by entering details promptly into the pending cases register.
- Secure rights issue applications from the appropriate Treasury & Investment staff before executing rights issue investments, and assess and process bank submissions within the agreed service timelines.
- Work with investment dealers and stockbrokers to obtain deal confirmations through the approved communication channels.
- Coordinate with internal teams to identify and correct any mismatches in approvals or executed transactions.
- Maintain both electronic and physical records of all investment proposals received after transaction accounting has been completed by the assigned staff.
- Assist the Section Head in examining and investigating pending items that arise from operational mistakes, working with the relevant departments.
- Help prepare regular and ad hoc reports on section activities to satisfy regulatory, audit, compliance, and process requirements.
- Perform daily checks and reconciliations of outstanding NOSTRO account items against manual and system postings completed by assigned employees.
Experience and background
The role calls for a university degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or a closely related area. A master’s degree in Management or a similar field is considered an advantage. Candidates should have 5 to 8 years of experience in financial services or banking, with direct involvement in the relevant discipline. Prior exposure to treasury and investment settlement operations in a banking environment is expected. The role also requires familiarity with investment transaction processing for FEQ/PT, Bond/PT, and QE instruments, NOSTRO reconciliation, MIS reporting, and the regulatory and compliance framework covering treasury and investment operations.
