Role Overview
Kia Europe is offering an internship opportunity for a Data Scientist at its headquarters in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. The role supports the Ownership Experience function by improving business intelligence, data integration, KPI visibility, and forecasting so the team can turn data into practical business actions.
What You Will Do
- Pull data from existing sources such as ERP systems, SQL databases, and SAP, then combine it for analysis.
- Create reports and analytical outputs for Ownership Experience teams including BI, Warranty, Technical Support, Parts & Accessories, Service Marketing, and OX Academy.
- Design, set up, and keep updated the KPIs used by those teams.
- Maintain KPI databases and recurring reporting outputs.
- Clean, process, and visualize data using Tableau and Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, and Seaborn.
- Build a strong understanding of Kia EU Ownership Experience data structures.
- Assist with ongoing data interfacing initiatives across Kia Europe.
- Prepare data-backed briefing materials for decision-making whenever needed.
- Support the development and refinement of a new warranty reporting portal used to monitor and manage market KPIs.
Profile and Requirements
Applicants must be enrolled in a university in the European Union for the full duration of the internship, with a preference for Germany. A valid visa and unrestricted authorization to work in Germany are required. Kia recommends a six-month internship so there is enough time to learn the business and become familiar with the topic area.
- You should be studying for a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, business, science, or a related subject.
- You need working knowledge of Python scripting and SQL.
- Familiarity with data analysis tools and databases such as SQL, SAS, R, SPSS, Python, VBA, and visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is expected.
- An interest in the automotive industry will be considered a plus.
- You should bring strong analytical thinking, statistical understanding, and a practical, solution-oriented mindset.

- Comfort working in a multicultural, fast-changing environment and collaborating as a team player is important.
