Role Overview

This position is for an experienced Defence ILS professional who can help deliver logistics support outcomes that keep critical capability ready for introduction, sustainment, and operational use. The role works within Defence policy frameworks and spans the full integrated logistics support lifecycle in a high-impact environment.

You will independently handle complex ILS activities, using sound judgement, initiative, and established support principles. The role involves close coordination with Defence stakeholders, project teams, logistics groups, and industry partners to ensure logistics elements are well integrated, supportable, and aligned to capability needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and deliver ILS outputs, including NATO codification and the cataloguing of Items of Supply within approved logistics information systems.
• Help establish supplier and repair pathways that support long-term sustainment arrangements.
• Create, update, and maintain technical records such as equipment schedules and repair-parts schedules.
• Carry out logistics information system transactions that support introduction into service, provisioning, and distribution of equipment and spare parts.
• Prepare entitlement documents in line with approved provisioning and unit needs.
• Serve as a central ILS contact for Defence teams, project groups, logistics organisations, and industry stakeholders.
• Take part in stakeholder meetings and forums to coordinate ILS deliverables.
• Draft and support ILS reports, plans, and related working documents.
• Assist with acceptance testing, including reviewing ILS outcomes and providing recommendations on capability acceptance.

Requirements

• Certificate IV in Materiel Logistics, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven background delivering ILS across the capability lifecycle, from introduction into service through sustainment.
• Experience supporting capability introduction into service, with knowledge of Fundamental Inputs to Capability requirements.
• Strong understanding of Defence logistics policy and Logistics Information Management Systems.
• Working familiarity with NATO codification and cataloguing processes.
• Ability to manage several ILS deliverables while maintaining productive stakeholder relationships.
• Security clearance requirement: Baseline.
• Weekly working hours: 40.
• Location noted as Cairns, QLD, with availability also indicated for Australia-wide work.
