Role Overview

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, tidiness, and upkeep of guest rooms, suites, corridors, and garden areas according to the resort’s high standards. The role demands attentiveness to guest requests and ensuring their satisfaction throughout their stay. Duties may adapt as operational needs evolve.

Key Responsibilities

• Arrive punctually in proper uniform, with a well-groomed appearance.
• Participate in daily briefings at shift start.
• Complete training to understand and implement resort housekeeping procedures and standards.
• Adhere strictly to the resort’s key control policy.
• Collect daily task assignments from the housekeeping office.
• Use and maintain cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment following resort guidelines.
• Clean all guest corridors, garden borders, empty ashtrays, and ensure floors are dry during rain.
• Replenish pantries with required linen stock.
• Maintain guest room cleanliness and replenish linen up to resort standards.
• Clear and sanitize pantries, empty garbage, and manage soiled linen appropriately.
• Prepare the cleaning service bag for the following day.
• Complete daily task control forms accurately.
• Report any equipment malfunctions, incidents, or guest room irregularities promptly to supervisors.
• Handle lost and found items according to protocol.
• Report in-room safe issues and any unusual guest behaviors following resort policies.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of guest room layouts, corridors, and housekeeping storage areas.
• Follow resort health and safety guidelines diligently.
• Attend mandated training sessions when required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Work as per a rotating schedule including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and public holidays in accordance with Mauritian labor laws.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum School Certificate qualification.
• National Certificate Level 3 in any discipline.
• At least two years of prior experience in a similar housekeeping role within an international ultra-luxury resort environment.
• Fluency in English and French, both spoken and written.
• Physical ability to consistently perform moderate lifting, bending, stretching, and remain on feet for most of the shift.
