Housekeeping Aide

Position Overview

The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for responding swiftly to guest and departmental requests, identifying and communicating maintenance needs within public and guest areas, and ensuring safety by placing caution signs where needed. This role includes delivering guest requests, arranging furniture in guest rooms, and removing items such as debris, food trays, newspapers, soiled linens, and trash from hallways to designated service zones. Proper cleaning, upkeep, and storage of cleaning tools and equipment are essential duties.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Promptly attend to guest and interdepartmental requests.
• Detect and report preventive or urgent maintenance issues in both guest rooms and public spaces.
• Place caution signs to maintain guest and staff safety.
• Communicate directly with other departments for emergency repairs.
• Facilitate guest requests including furniture setup in rooms.
• Clear hallways by transporting various items (waste, linens, trays, newspapers) to service areas.
• Maintain and store cleaning equipment appropriately.
• Comply with all safety, security, and company policies, report hazards and incidents, and complete required safety training.
• Manage flammable materials safely and maintain professional uniform and appearance.
• Uphold guest service standards by greeting guests warmly, anticipating their needs, assisting disabled individuals, and expressing genuine thanks.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with others.
• Work collaboratively with the team towards shared goals.
• Guarantee adherence to quality standards and expectations.
• Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 55 pounds unassisted and more with help, moving housekeeping carts across uneven surfaces, bending, twisting, pulling, stooping, ladder use, and extensive standing, sitting, walking, or kneeling during shifts.
• Inspect equipment visually to detect defects.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
