Health and Safety Advisor

About the Role

Ayrton Group is looking to appoint a Health and Safety Advisor to manage and oversee health and safety operations on a construction project within a major food manufacturing facility located in Limerick, Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

• Foster and encourage a proactive health and safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and risk evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to applicable Irish health and safety laws and recognized industry standards.
• Create, implement, and periodically review health and safety policies, procedures, and safe working methods.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, develop detailed reports, and enforce corrective measures.
• Provide health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions as necessary.
• Collaborate closely with site management, project teams, and subcontractors to uphold exceptional safety standards.
• Maintain comprehensive health and safety documentation and records accurately.
• Oversee contractor compliance and encourage ongoing improvements in safety protocols.
• Engage with regulatory authorities and external parties when required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Possession of a relevant Health and Safety certification or qualification.
• Minimum of three years' experience working in a Health and Safety capacity within construction, with demolition experience considered an advantage.
• Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Excellent communication skills paired with strong organisational capabilities.
• Holds a full, clean driving licence with a readiness to travel between various sites.
