Head of Operations

Position Overview

This role is a senior leadership opportunity to lead and enhance the operational backbone of a global, fully remote financial services organization based in India. The Head of Operations will be instrumental in scaling operations, guaranteeing efficiency, compliance, and excellent service delivery across multiple critical functions including payments, reconciliations, business operations, and digital asset settlements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic operations plan aligned with business goals emphasizing scalability, effectiveness, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead key operational segments such as payments, treasury, reconciliations, card and back-office operations.
• Accountable for operational performance by setting measurable metrics, controls, and continuous enhancement processes.
• Drive initiatives for process improvements, automation, and transformation leveraging structured methodologies, technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled tools.
• Establish standardized operating procedures to boost operational consistency, effectiveness, and transparency.
• Build and nurture a high-performing team by encouraging accountability, teamwork, and continuous growth.
• Collaborate closely with compliance, risk management, and financial crime units to ensure all operational activities adhere to internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Design and maintain frameworks for operational risk management including monitoring, reporting, controls, and preparation for audits.
• Work cross-functionally with leadership in technology, data, human resources, and client-facing functions to ensure aligned business operations.
• Oversee the entirety of digital asset settlement operations including reconciliation, wallet oversight, custody controls, and crypto-to-fiat processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• More than 10 years of progressively responsible experience managing operations in sectors such as banking, fintech, financial services, or wealth management.
• Proven track record in scaling multiple operational functions including payments, treasury, settlements, and business workflows.
• Expertise in operational transformation including process optimization, automation, and scaling of workflows.
• Deep knowledge of financial regulations, compliance needs, AML frameworks, and financial crime deterrence.
• Leadership experience with multidisciplinary teams and ability to cultivate a high-performance operational culture.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership, and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Strategic thinker capable of converting organizational objectives into practical operational plans.
• Hands-on experience with cryptocurrency, blockchain, or digital asset operations is highly advantageous.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote and international team setting.
