Overview

The Ministry for Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is committed to transforming communities across the UK by building quality housing and fostering strong neighborhoods. As part of the Central Delivery Unit (CDU) within the Commercial Directorate, this leadership role is central to leveraging key resources in support of MHCLG's pivotal projects.

Role Summary

The Head of Delivery Resourcing will spearhead the Delivery Resourcing Team (DRT), dedicated to providing a flexible and effective resource service aligned with departmental priorities. This role involves strategically assigning team members to crucial programs, supporting projects from initiation through to completion while integrating into teams to bolster delivery capability and leave behind a legacy of knowledge sharing.

The position also handles managing an external consultancy contract valued at £10 million, ensuring compliance, resource suitability, performance monitoring, and fiscal stewardship in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and optimize personnel deployment by matching project needs to available resources for impactful outcomes on priority initiatives.
• Strategically evolve the delivery model by developing DRT priorities, processes, and capabilities, working alongside other government bodies and leadership teams to align and communicate progress.
• Oversee the administration and governance of the £10 million external consultancy contract, ensuring adherence to contract terms and delivering value for money.
• Provide visible leadership for the DRT by promoting team wellbeing, fostering continuous improvement, and collaborating constructively with stakeholders and CDU senior leaders to achieve departmental goals.

Candidate Profile

• Proven strategic leadership capabilities with a track record of successful change management and service enhancement aligned to organizational objectives.
• Experience in resource planning, operational service management, or workforce deployment.
• Competence in managing commercial contracts and ensuring efficient use of resources.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills to build relationships within a complex organizational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and nurture high-performing teams.
• Ability to leverage data and insights for informed decision-making and performance improvements.
• Familiarity with project delivery concepts or a willingness to quickly develop this knowledge.

Compensation and Benefits
