Role Overview
The firm seeks an experienced Head of Communications to spearhead their worldwide communications strategy and enhance their brand reputation within the venture capital and startup sectors. This leadership position involves shaping messaging, managing media relations, and supporting the positioning of founders and executives across various channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a comprehensive global communication strategy for 16VC.
- Establish and nurture professional relationships with top-tier business and technology journalists.
- Coordinate corporate announcements, updates on investments, and communications regarding portfolio companies.
- Lead efforts in executive and founder positioning and communications.
- Manage press materials including releases, media kits, interviews, and opportunities to speak publicly.
- Collaborate closely with marketing and content teams to ensure aligned and consistent messaging throughout all communications.
- Oversee external public relations agencies and communication partners.
- Coach leadership in preparation for media engagements and public appearances.
- Keep track of media coverage and proactively seek storytelling chances.
- Assist in reputation management and crisis communication efforts as necessary.
Mandatory Requirements
- A minimum of eight years' experience in communications, corporate communications, public relations, or media roles.
- Background working in venture capital, technology, startups, or financial services sectors.
- Established connections with business and technology media outlets.
- Superior written and oral communication abilities.
- Proven experience driving strategic communications projects.
- Capability to work autonomously within a remote setup.
